32nd European Film Awards
— Stage Visuals
The 2019 edition of the event hapenned, like every other year, at the Berliner Festspiele on December 7th.
The EFA team developed the idea for a rotating 3-part Stage design, in which two faces would be phisically built scenes and the other would be a curved LED.
I was then tasked with creating the content for the LED, which included 8 categories and special moments, reflecting the tone of the night.
— Create allegories, philosophical worlds.
The direction for this year’s event was to embrace the absurdity and explore the surrealism of today’s world. Contrasting disbelief with cynicism, like a post-apocalyptic, dark and shiny awards show.
I always feel very enabled working with the EFA and this time was not different. Most of the direction seemed to fit my visual interests, so my approach was to explore this cloud of feelings and work within the rules of the stage to visualize the scenes, translating the tone of strenght and elegance and developing the relationship between chaos and beauty.
